The Springfusor®

The Springfusor® is a new syringe infusion pump designed for simplicity in use for continuous or intermittent small volume infusions and is made in Australia. It consists of a spring-driven cartridge that drives a syringe. There is no risk of drugs being accidentally downloaded as with electronic pumps. It requires no electricity or batteries. The output from the syringe is controlled by a short length of narrow bore Flow Control Tubing (FCT).

Indications for use:

  • Suitable for intermittent or continuous infusion of small volumes when fluid restriction or slow controlled infusion is used
  • Can be set up for bolus injections and to replace mini-bags and burettes or in certain situations, gravity lines and to replace electronic pumps.

Flow Control Tubing

TheFlow Control Tubing (FCT) controls the flow rate of the infusion. The tubes are marked by duration i.e. 5 min, 15 min, 30 min,

Patient Controlled Analgesia Device

Intravenous Patient Controlled Injector for administering pain relief in controlled doses:

  • 60 ml reservoir (permanently bonded)
  • 0.5 ml bolus (fixed).

Key Features and Benefits

  • The PCA can be easily refilled via the refill port
  • The syringe used to fill the device does not need to be changed as the system has two filters one in the IV line and one at the top of the reservoir syringe
  • The line filter is a 0.2 micron air and bacteria filter
  • The unit is disposable and thus it should not be re-used.
