The Surflo with Wings Infusion Set is designed to be user and patient - friendly:

The ultra-sharp lancet point and the lubricated cannula facilitate needle insertion.
The ultra-thin wall maximises flow rates.
The large colour-coded wings guarantee stability and grip during venipuncture.
The wings are slightly angled in relation to the cannula in order to conform to the skin surface and to put less pressure on the blood vessel.

The Surshield Surflo winged infusion set differs from the regular winged infusion set only by a protective cap that can be placed over the entire needle as soon as the needle is withdrawn from the patient's vein. This system makes sure the Surshield Surflo is extremely easy to use with a single handed technique. The protector cannot be removed once it is snapped over the needle.
Just press the needle and protector together between thumb and index-finger until the cover snaps over the needle, and the needle is permanently protected.

This IV catheter is available in two types: straight (EFTE) and wings (FEP). Its catheter tip is perfectly tapered to ensure a smooth transition from needle to catheter. Because the material is stronger than other materials, there is less chance of split tips and peelback.

For almost each gauge an obturator is available with the same colour as the catheter. The obturator prevents thrombus formation in the lumen of the catheter when the infusion is discontinued.
